Frederick W. Gibb, III is a principal and founding member of the firm, Gibb & Riley, and is a registered patent attorney principally drafting and prosecuting patent applications.  He received the degree of Bachelor of Science from the University of San Francisco, San Francisco, California, in 1984, and a Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, California in 1988.  Mr. Gibb has over 20 years experience in patent preparation and prosecution, has written over 1000 original patent applications, related to semiconductors, artificial intelligence, data structures, data mining, encryption, communication and storage architectures, consumer electronics, printing devices and systems, wireless communication devices and systems, and all forms of mechanical devices including land, air, and sea vehicles, medical devices, manufacturing machines, etc.  Mr. Gibb is very well versed with all aspects of the law associated with obtaining patents, and is a frequently invited speaker, lecturer, and panelist on intellectual property issues.

Prior to forming Gibb & Riley, Mr. Gibb was an Associate Patent Attorney in a mid-sized firm in Northern Virginia for 3 years and was an Associate Litigation Attorney, in a Richmond, Virginia law firm, concentrating in civil litigation before the state, federal district, and federal appellate courts, and in corporate matters for over 5 years.

 Mr. Gibb is a member of the Maryland State Bar and Virginia State Bar and is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.  Mr. Gibb is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), and the American Bar Association (ABA).  He is also a member of the Virginia Bar Association (VBA), the Maryland State Bar Association and the Anne Arundel Bar Association.
